Watford Borough Council partnered with Fresh Lemon to embark on an exciting brand evolution. With the existing identity feeling outdated and the brand guidelines becoming increasingly unwieldy, the need for a fresh, streamlined approach was clear. The re-brand aims to capture the vibrant energy and dynamic spirit of Watford – an ambitious and thriving hub in the heart of Hertfordshire.

After a period of significant investment and regeneration, Watford soared to the top of the UK Vitality Index, earning the title of the Best Place to Live and Work, surpassing the previous leader, Bath. Recognising this achievement, the council saw the need for a bold and refreshed identity – one that truly embodies the promise of its motto and resonates with both residents and visitors alike.

Fresh Lemon crafted a vibrant and impactful new brand identity, inspired by creative interpretations of the letter “W” contributed by Watford residents. These unique designs were transformed into dynamic shapes and formations, providing a bold framework for showcasing imagery and content in a fresh and engaging way.
